Welcome to our blog. In addition to being hip to the latest trends in cyber communication, we will use this space to share with you some of our most memorable events and tales from the wild world of off-site catering.
Going Wholesale at The General Store
Focusing on locally produced products for “picnic, pantry and home” the highly anticipated General Store opened this spring in downtown Paso Robles.
When the dynamic trio of Erin, Jillian and Jolie invited Trumpet Vine to be part of the ”picnic” – we were all over it. In addition to featuring our grab n’ go tortes, chicken salad, hummus and tapenade, they also have a wide variety of sweet treats from some of our local favorites like Templeton Toffee and Negranti Ice Cream, just to name a few.
While the General Store is an incredible place to find artisan foods, they also carry unique home and culinary accessories such as cheese boards, linens, beeswax candles, bath and body products, jewelry, note cards, and toys.
If you have not stopped in to check it out- you must! Lots to see and great gift ideas for the upcoming holidays.
Real Wedding: Rachel and Johnathan
Rachel and Johnathan’s free-spirited DIY wedding was one of our favorites last spring. This uber-creative couple’s vision included the 1969 movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid via antique Victorian accent pieces, rustic western elements, and a dash of 1970′s kitsch. Rachel and Johnathan created mason jar lanterns that they hung from trees, and each guest was seated in front of a different hand-painted Victorian plate topped with a horseshoe favor. Chandeliers swayed in the trees as Rachel and Johnathon’s guests danced late into the night and enjoyed treats from our gelato cart. Scroll down to view pictures, see the menu, and a short highlight video of this gorgeously unique wedding…

Villa Toscana Photoshoot
We were thrilled to be part of TOS Events collaborative photo shoot at the newly reopened Villa Toscana. Laura and Taryn’s vision for a modern twist on the wine country wedding came to fruition with bright pops of color from the floral styling of Panacea Event Floral Design, sultry lighting by Kramer Events, and sassy linens and specialty furniture provided by Embellish and Classic Party Rentals. It was all perfectly captured by the talents of private estate and vineyard wedding photographer, Mike Larson. We refer to this handful of awesome professionals as “the dream team.” The Cake Cathedral provided a gorgeous ruffle inspired wedding cake while Trumpet Vine introduced some more globally inspired flavors to the menu.
For the menu we went with small bites that were both interesting to the eye and palate.

Kimchi Fried Rice and Quail Egg Spoons
Squid Ink Pasta and Seared Scallops

Meet Our Event Manager, Gayle Powers
Our Event Manager Gayle Powers brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry and an unparalleled passion for events to the Trumpet Vine Team.
A California native, Gayle was raised on the Central Coast. Starting in her father’s restaurant, she knew hospitality was in her nature. After high school she moved to Chico for college, where she began working in a high profile floral shop, which focused on weddings, along with other restaurant jobs to make ends meet. Gayle also studied business in Torino, Italy for 5 months before receiving her Bachelor’s in Recreation Administration with a concentration in Special Event Management and a minor in Business Administration at California State University, Chico.
After a floral internship in San Francisco for the well-respected Michael Daigian Designs, she returned to the Central Coast as an Event Specialist and Weddings Division Manager for a large volume catering company. While at that company, she was able to develop her skills and gain experience in the local thriving wedding community.
Gayle’s fervor, eagerness to please, and attention to detail are instrumental to making each event a success at Trumpet Vine Catering. She is as devoted to each event as the next and strives for perfection in every aspect of event planning.
In the off season Gayle enjoys camping, cooking, prepping for her garden for the spring, wrangling her chickens and sharing the fruits of her labor with all she loves.
